Couch potatoes

Sometimes I wonder what in the world most people did for amusement before television was invented! I can remember as a child, our first television was a small black and white television. Pretty much the only thing us kids watched was the Saturday morning cartoons. I don’t know why the parents watched back then. I remember the Jackie Gleason Show. Over the years we watched more television, and it wasn’t too long before there was a television not just in the living room, but in every bedroom as well!
We are certainly a generation of couch potatoes now! I can remember when our only option for television reception was the bunny ear antennas, then the rooftop antennas, then cable, and now satellite. One of the most highly advertise satellite services is the Direct TV Service. Seems as though I don’t ever even hear of any other type of satellite service other than Direct TV. All of my neighbors and siblings have DirectTV for their television service provider. As for me, I haven’t made up my mind whether to switch to a Direct TV System or keep the cable system that I have now. I’m just not convinced that we need all of those extra channels! I have enough couch potatoes growing in my house!
