My Uncle’s building has cancer

May 21st, 2009

My Uncle Fred and Aunt Winnie live in Silverwater.  Uncle Fred has an old concrete building in which he repairs cars and trucks and just about any kind of mechanical engine that runs on fossil fuel.  Over the past few years, he has noticed that the concrete is cracking and flaking.  At first he thought it was just plain old weathering and aging, but one of his neighbors told him that it really is concrete spalling.  I’ve never heard of concrete spalling before, but my Uncle tells me that it is as serious building flaw that needs repair.

Fortunately he has found a company called Remedial Building Services that performs concrete spalling repair near where he works.  That is good because he won’t have to pay a lot of money to have someone come out and look at it to give him an estimate.  In addition to repairing spalling, they perform lots of other building repair functions and also perform fire rating services.  So although my Uncle’s building has cancer, the prognosis is promising!
