I usually avoid grocery shopping on weekends anytime after 9am. The stores are really crowded and the lines are long. I find that the other shoppers get cranky and rude and I just don’t want to be around them! But today I ended up having to run to the store later in the day than I wanted to go. It seems that the big spaghetti dinner that I am putting on tomorrow for my mother and the extended family lacked one major item – the spaghetti noodles!
Wanting to spend tomorrow cleaning and cooking, and getting ready to entertain the family, I decided that I needed to go shopping today. So I took a nap this afternoon and I tied the grocery shopping in with eating dinner with my hubby at the Chik-Fil-A that is near the Wal-Mart that we shop at. I dreaded going, thinking the crowds would be horrible. Well, the store WAS crowded, but not as crowded as I expected. Our arrival time was about 6:50pm, so I’m going to have to try to remember that timing is a decent time. Having said that, the selection of produce was pretty picked over, so I have to keep in mind that the store might be out of stock of some items that late in the day. Got home about 8:30, which wasn’t too bad considering. But I sure am glad I took that nap! I’m usually fast asleep by now.
