My new refrigerator has one of those automatic ice maker/water dispensers built into the outside of the freezer door. At first I thought it would be a great convenience to have, and sometimes I still do. But there are a lot of times when it simply makes a big mess. I thought that the water that was dispensed would be cold, but it is not, so you have to add ice if you want cold water. I guess that’s not a bad thing, but the ice part tends to be messy. I usually end up with some ice on the floor, no matter how careful I try to be! And when my hubby or kids use it, they just leave the ice on the floor to melt, which is a safety hazard, and it tends to make the floor look dirty quicker. So now I tend to avoid using it!
