Maybe having a loud voice pays off

All my life I’ve been told that my voice “carries.” “They” say that it’s not LOUD, but that there is a quality to it that makes it heard for longer distances than most other people’s voices. I guess maybe it’s the projection. I should have been an professional stage actor or singer! Too bad my singing voice is terrible! Anyway, I’ve been on “Stand-by” at work the past several work days, and it seems that when the need arises to send someone out I tend to be the first one picked to go out on it. I’m not sure if it’s because they want to get rid of me because they are tired of hearing my voice, or if they are taking pity on my need for money and sending me out so I’ll get paid more! So I don’t know quite how to take it! But in this particular case, since I need the money, I’ll just take it and run; no questions asked!
