Sometimes I get so frustrated with my family that I wish that I lived alone. I don’t like having to keep asking my hubby and kids to help out. I wish they’d pitch in without being asked to help. And often times when they DO agree to help out, the performance is so sub-standard that I wonder why I even bother!

But then I think about dear old Ellie who lives down the road from us. She is in her 80′s and lives alone. The poor dear is desperately lonely, and terrified that something bad will happen to her. Several years ago she had a Home Security System installed that she has to deactivate whenever she is going to open her door. I often wonder if she is just paranoid from watching the news, or if something bad really did happen to her, or a member of her family to have her be so frightened. She has ADT stickers on all of her windows, to let potential thieves that her house has a Security System in it.

I’d hate to be living alone and paranoid for my safety. So I guess I’ll just have to keep encouraging my family and give lots of praise when they help out!

Learning the hard way just doesn’t make sense, when I heard of this wonderful online shopping site I wanted to take just a bit of time and do a bit of homework before jumping in. So I read some nomorerack reviews about nomorerack.com and then decided to go ahead and take the plunge and see what I could find there that I just can’t live without and hoping for the best deal possible.

Facebook was a good resource when looking to see if this company that offers great Daily Deals is really on the up and up. Come to find out a few people that are my Facebook friends had used this website just recently for some of their Christmas shopping needs and all had good things to say about it. That was good to know, you just gotta love Facebook these days. I never knew how much I would rely and depend on all that Facebook has to offer these days. Kinda makes me wonder what they will come up with next.

We looked into wireless internet service plans and found the best plan for our speed and data needs. Now, I can use the internet to pursue one of my hobbies. I love to collect vintage china. I have several patterns that I am collecting. They are antique and cannot be found at a regular retail store. I have had to piece them together by buying on-line and trading with vendors. My favorite pattern that I have been collecting since I was in my early twenties is a beautiful pattern by Staffordshire. It was produced from 1918-1938. It is called “Chelsea Bird”. It is a beautiful hand painted bird on delicate china. There are different colors of the pattern. The most that I have is of the burgundy. I have collected an eight-piece setting with some serving pieces. I want to collect the cobalt blue, mustard, and Kelly green colors too. They are more rare and really hard to track down. I got lucky on Ebay last year and got six dinner plates from a lady in Kentucky. It is rare to find so many together!

It must suck to have to wear the same old uniform day in and day out. The only good thing I can imagine is that you never have to worry about what to wear that day, only needing to make sure that your limited supply of uniforms are clean and wrinkle free and what shoes to wear. And comfortable shoes can make or break your day, as we all know.

So many of today’s medical professionals can choose from a variety of scrub clothing that we are seeing more and more of out and about in our daily lives, much like the ones that you can find at http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Women/. The ones that are geared for the pediatric sector are really cute. I’m sure it makes a difference for the kids that they deal with each day and hopefully cheer up the place as well. Lord knows a busy pediatrics office can use all the cheering up that they can get. I can’t imagine working in that environment with all the crying and screaming kids day after day after day…….

Last summer I bought a digital voice recorder to record myself reading a script that I need to memorize. When not in use I was keeping it in my brief case. About a month ago I went to get it to use it and it was not where I always keep it. Well I have torn the house and briefcase and car apart looking for that durn thing and I cannot find it. I wonder if someone took it and neglected to tell me. I’ve asked everyone in the family if they have seen it, and the answer has been “no.”

So yesterday I broke down and bought a new one. This one cost about twice as much as the first one did; it has more bells and whistles. I don’t know how to use it yet; I am actually a little bit intimidated by it. Being technologically challenged is a sad thing to be in this day and age!

Right now I have a friend, a gal that I worked with a few years back, who is currently looking for houses for rent in Edmonton, which is a real nice part of Canada. She and her husband both are having employment issues and have had some offers up that a way and he has some family there that they can rely on for assistance during the settling in process. I wish them all the luck in the world, hope I get to see them again at some point. The U.S.A. is losing two good people and Canada will be lucky to have them up there!

Even though we lived way up in Maine, which isn’t all that far from Canada, I have to be honest and say that I never had the chance or opportunity to take such a trip up there. Now that we are living way south I don’t know if I’ll ever get up there or not. I have several friends and acquaintances that are scattered here and there that I’d love to be able and visit. Most likely I would never have to spend a dime on any hotel or motel rooms, nor pay for too much food along the way.

I don’t know about you, but I love gift cards. I’ve heard many people say that they think that they are a “cop out” because that means that they giver doesn’t want to give a lot of thought as to what the recipient wants, but I beg to differ! I think that they are perfect! What is says to me, is that the person acknowledges that I have enough dust collectors and might want to buy something that fits just right, or use as a special treat at a restaurant.

I love the fact that you can customize them now online with special photographs that you can upload yourself to make the gift card more memorable – when the recipient pulls out the gift card to use and sees the photograph of the giver on it, it reminds them of the person who gave them the gift – and I think that is wonderful! Or the picture could be of the recipient himself so his brother/sister can’t steal it and claim it belongs to them when they are caught!

When I was a young adult just starting out, there was limited information available to me to teach me about credit. The truth be told, everything I learned about credit I learned from my parents! Even though I had taken business courses in high school, there really wasn’t any teaching about the real life ins and outs about credit.

Well, now is really different! With the Internet at our fingertips, today’s teenagers and young adults are extremely fortunate to have such great websites as the studentcreditcardscenter.com to go to. At that website they can read a lot of great articles about the different types of student credit card offers and brands that are available to the student. There is also a really great article about identity theft that I think everyone should read no matter how old (or young) you are!

Funny thing is I’ve never even heard of Nathan’s, but I’m finding that that isn’t so unusual with a lot of the taste tests that I have been running across on Yahoo.com and other sites that I stumble onto.

As far as I’m concerned as long as it is made of beef Oscar Myer is still tops in my book and when I have a coupon and/or find them on sale I stock up on them so they are a pretty cheap food that I’ve been enjoying since childhood. My mother always served Oscar Myer and still does.
